Deck overview

This Rakdos deck is built around Smaug the Impenetrable, leveraging his unique ability to generate massive amounts of Treasure whenever he takes noncombat damage. Because Smaug has built-in indestructible and haste, the deck uses symmetrical damage sweepers like Blasphemous Act and Star of Extinction, or targeted effects like Fire Covenant, to deal heavy damage to Smaug without killing him. This interaction produces 13 to 20+ Treasure tokens in a single action. The resulting mana and artifact volume is immediately converted into game-ending burn through Torment of Hailfire, Crackle with Power, or token aristocrats like Mirkwood Bats and Marionette Apprentice. Supported by an aggressive fast mana suite, premium black tutors, and free interaction spells, the deck reliably establishes its setup on Turn 4–5 and finishes the game in the same turn.
