Deck overview

This Mardu control deck harnesses Queen Marchesa to introduce and protect the monarch mechanic. It establishes a resilient defensive foundation through attack tax cards such as Ghostly Prison and Champions of Minas Tirith, combined with forced combat effects from Kardur, Doomscourge and Karazikar, the Eye Tyrant. By redirecting aggression among opponents, the deck steadily accumulates card advantage and deploys powerful Court enchantments, most notably Court of Ambition and Court of Grace. These engines apply escalating life loss and generate evasive tokens each upkeep. A comprehensive removal suite handles opposing threats efficiently, while Inkshield punishes large swings. The deck closes games through compounded court attrition, goaded combat damage, or alternate win conditions like Approach of the Second Sun and Revel in Riches.
