Deck overview

This deck leverages Blech, Loafing Pest to convert repeatable lifegain into +1/+1 counters across five kindred creature types: Pests, Bats, Insects, Snakes, and Spiders. Early turns focus on accelerating mana and establishing continuous lifegain triggers like Essence Warden and Bogwater Lumaret. Once the commander enters, mass token generators like Beacon of Creation, Iridescent Hornbeetle, and Pest Infestation flood the battlefield with kindred creatures. Lifegain triggers from creature entries, combat damage, and pest deaths rapidly swell the army into an overwhelming force. Evasion enablers such as Duskshell Crawler and Hagra Constrictor allow the team to push through blockers for lethal combat damage, while aristocrat payoffs like Bastion of Remembrance and Enduring Tenacity drain opponents directly whenever creatures die. Supported by efficient Golgari removal and board protection, the deck applies immense midgame combat pressure.
