Deck overview

This deck is an Orzhov midrange strategy built around lifegain triggers, Angel token production, and life-drain attrition. It uses early creatures like Soul Warden and Elas il-Kor, Sadistic Pilgrim to generate a steady stream of lifegain triggers, powering payoffs like Righteous Valkyrie, Resplendent Angel, and Angelic Accord. As the battlefield develops, large flying threats accumulate while aristocrat engines chip away at opposing life totals. The deck pivots into a decisive clock when Astarion, the Decadent enters the battlefield, using his Feed ability at the end step to double the life lost by a chosen opponent each turn. Late-game mana sinks such as Exsanguinate and Debt to the Deathless provide closing burst damage. The deck features comprehensive spot removal and sweepers to control opposing boards, though it remains vulnerable to sweepers and lacks stack-based countermagic.
