Deck overview

This Golgari midrange deck harnesses Blech, Loafing Pest to convert repeatable lifegain triggers into massive +1/+1 counter buffs across an army of Pests, Bats, Insects, Snakes, and Spiders. Supported by cheap green ramp spells like Three Visits and Wild Growth, the deck quickly deploys its commander alongside token producers such as Sedgemoor Witch, Ophiomancer, and Scute Swarm. Incidental lifegain from cards like Essence Warden, Prosperous Innkeeper, and Druid Class rapidly scales the entire board out of range of burn-based removal. High card velocity from Skullclamp, Darkstar Augur, and Inspiring Call ensures consistent refill into mid-game overruns. The deck threatens lethal combat damage around Turn 6 with trampling finishers like Blossoming Bogbeast and Duskshell Crawler, while running Dina, Soul Steeper and Blood Artist as alternate drain routes. With versatile removal including Assassin's Trophy and Tear Asunder, the deck maintains board control while engineering an overwhelming go-wide finish.
