Deck overview

This Golgari deck is an optimized token-aristocrats strategy led by Chatterfang, Squirrel General. The game plan revolves around accelerating mana early with 1-2 CMC dorks and rocks, deploying Chatterfang, and triggering token generators like Peregrin Took, Tireless Provisioner, and Black Market Connections. Chatterfang doubles every token created—whether Treasure, Food, Clue, or Creature—into additional 1/1 green Squirrels. These tokens serve a dual role as board control fodder and sacrifice fuel for explosive card draw through Skullclamp and Yawgmoth, Thran Physician. The deck seeks to close games decisively on Turn 5 by assembling an infinite loop with Pitiless Plunderer, sacrificing Squirrels to generate Treasures and new Squirrels while aristocrat payoffs like Blood Artist, Zulaport Cutthroat, and Marionette Apprentice drain the entire table. Backed by efficient interaction like Abrupt Decay, Force of Vigor, and Culling Ritual, the deck exerts immense board pressure and transitions smoothly from incremental value to sudden, lethal combo finishes.
