Deck overview

This deck is a Grixis Amass Midrange and Reanimator strategy piloted by Sauron, the Dark Lord. The primary game plan focuses on deploying mana rocks on turns 2 and 3 to cast Sauron by turn 5. Sauron punishes opponents whenever they cast spells by continuously growing an Orc Army token. Once that Army attacks and connects on turn 6, the Ring tempts you, letting you discard your hand to draw four fresh cards each combat step. This rapid card velocity dumps large creatures like The Balrog of Moria, Archfiend of Ifnir, and Wonder into the graveyard while digging for high-impact spells. Archfiend of Ifnir turns each Ring-triggered discard into an asymmetric board wipe, while Living Death and Reanimate bring back an overwhelming army. Evasion enablers such as The Black Gate, Corsairs of Umbar, and Wonder ensure your massive Army and 7/6 commander close out the game through combat damage by turn 8.
