Deck overview

This deck is a Sultai X-Spell Midrange strategy commanded by Zaxara, the Exemplary. The core game plan focuses on rapid early mana acceleration through low-cost mana creatures, artifacts, and land ramp to deploy Zaxara on Turn 3. Once active, Zaxara acts as both a double-mana dork and a token multiplier, creating an X/X Hydra token whenever any spell with {X} in its mana cost is cast. The deck leverages this synergy to cast scalable threats like Voracious Hydra and Steelbane Hydra, massive card draw like Pull from Tomorrow, and explosive enablers such as Genesis Wave. Combat victory is achieved by pushing through lethal damage with trample enablers like Overwhelming Stampede, Brawn, and Pathbreaker Ibex, with Exsanguinate serving as an alternate drain finisher. The deck runs a balanced suite of counterspells and spot removal to protect its board and disrupt opponents, though it remains inherently vulnerable to mass creature sweepers due to its reliance on untapping with large boards.
