Deck overview

This deck is a Gruul Dragon Stompy and Enrage Burn strategy commanded by Vrondiss, Rage of Ancients. The game plan revolves around accelerating mana in the early turns, deploying Vrondiss on Turn 4, and assembling damage-trigger engines or enters-the-battlefield burn effects like Purphoros, God of the Forge, Dragon Tempest, and Terror of the Peaks on Turn 5. By taking advantage of combat damage, fight spells, and mass damage sweepers like Blasphemous Act, the deck repeatedly triggers Vrondiss to create 5/4 Dragon Spirit tokens that burn opponents upon entering and deal lethal combat damage. Supported by robust standalone threats like Ancient Copper Dragon, Klauth, Unrivaled Ancient, and Goldspan Dragon, the deck transitions seamlessly between combo-adjacent burn engines and aerial stompy beats. Resilient protection spells shield critical pieces against removal, leading to a reliable table elimination by Turn 8.
