Deck overview

This deck is a Rakdos Group Slug strategy commanded by The Lord of Pain. It focuses on turning standard game actions—such as casting spells, drawing cards, tapping lands, and activating abilities—into painful life-loss events for every opponent. The deck establishes early board presence with low-cost punishers like Harsh Mentor, Orcish Bowmasters, and Razorkin Needlehead, then casts The Lord of Pain on Turn 4 to punish opposing spellcasting while shutting down life gain. On Turn 5, it deploys asymmetric multipliers such as Wound Reflection or debilitating taxes like Painful Quandary. This rapidly burns down all three opponents simultaneously over two turn cycles. Supported by efficient spot removal, board sweepers, and spell redirection, the deck applies continuous attrition that forces opponents into difficult decisions while steadily closing out the game around Turn 7.
