TDC Mardu Surge by user1041059

Format: Commander

Commander: Zurgo Stormrender

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

This is a Mardu token-drain engine. Zurgo Stormrender is the face commander, but his best mode is the end-step sacrifice: mobilize tokens die after combat, and because they are no longer attacking, each one makes every opponent lose 1. The deck layers other pings on that same pile-Ninja Teen on leave, Bastion of Remembrance, Venerated Stormsinger, and Teysa Karlov on death, and Purphoros, Impact Tremors, and Warleader's Call on entry. Exalted Sunborn and Thalisse make the pile much larger. Combat is mostly a delivery system; the actual win comes from enter, leave, and death triggers that drain all three opponents. The hidden engines are Exalted Sunborn and Teysa Karlov.
