Deck overview

This deck is a mono-black Zombie tribal and aristocrat swarm engine commanded by Ghoulcaller Gisa. The primary strategy accelerates mana in the opening turns, deploys undercosted high-power creatures such as Phyrexian Soulgorger and Nyxathid, and casts Gisa. Once untaped on Turn 5, Gisa sacrifices these large bodies to instantly spawn a massive army of 2/2 Zombie tokens. The deck amplifies this board presence with tribal lords like Undead Warchief and Death Baron, while locking down opposing creatures through asymmetric attrition pieces like Grave Pact, Dictate of Erebos, and Noxious Ghoul. Life drain effects from Gray Merchant of Asphodel, Vengeful Dead, and The Meathook Massacre ensure lethal reach across the entire table by Turn 7. While the deck boasts immense creature control, explosive token generation, and redundant black tutors, it remains vulnerable to targeted removal against Gisa before her first activation and lacks answers to noncreature combo engines or artifact threats.
