Deck overview

This deck is an exhibition spellslinger and kindred build centered on Gandalf and legendary Wizards. Commanded by Gandalf, Party Guest, the deck curves out low-cost legendary Wizards like Baral, Chief of Compliance, Kaza, Roil Chaser, and Venat, Heart of Hydaelyn before deploying Gandalf on Turn 4. At the beginning of each combat, Gandalf casts free instant and sorcery spells from hand, scaling in power with each legendary Wizard under your control. By Turn 6, having 3 to 4 legendary Wizards on the battlefield allows Gandalf to cast massive game-ending spells like Insurrection, Expropriate, Taunt from the Rampart, or Mnemonic Deluge without paying mana. Supporting counterspells like Pact of Negation and Wizard's Retort protect the board alongside indestructible effects from Boros Charm and Mithril Coat. If Gandalf is removed, cost reducers like Kaza and reanimation from Mizzix's Mastery provide reliable backup routes to hardcast or recur decisive spells to close the game.
