Deck overview

This mono-black deck is helmed by Imotekh the Stormlord and centers on generating massive value whenever artifact cards leave the graveyard. The deck stocks the graveyard through self-mill and targeted burial spells like Buried Alive and Entomb, then triggers Imotekh using repeatable recursion engines such as Phyrexian Reclamation, Skeleton Shard, and Trading Post to produce swarms of 2/2 Necron Warrior tokens. Midgame plays leverage asymmetric board wipes like Their Name Is Death and Phyrexian Scriptures that leave artifact armies intact while decimating opposing boards. The deck closes games through wide combat swings augmented by Imotekh's menace buffs, +1/+1 counter engines like Steel Overseer, heavy reanimation targets like Shard of the Void Dragon, or direct life drain from Monumental Corruption and Exsanguinate. While resilient against single-target removal thanks to graveyard recursion and Cryptothrall, it remains vulnerable to mass exile and dedicated graveyard hate.
