Deck overview

This Jeskai deck commands a focused Human typal strategy led by Éowyn, Shieldmaiden. The game plan revolves around deploying low-cost Human creatures in the opening turns, casting the commander on Turn 4 or 5, and creating an escalating wave of 2/2 trample, haste Human Knight tokens each combat step. As the board fills with six or more Humans, Éowyn provides continuous card draw to fuel sustained aggression. Critical damage scaling arrives via explosive anthems such as Shared Animosity, Blade Historian, and Beregond of the Guard, or through evasion and crowd control from Taunt from the Rampart and Raise the Palisade. A compact infinite combat combo between Combat Celebrant and Mirage Phalanx provides an alternate deterministic finish. The deck shields its broad battlefield using potent free or low-cost protection spells like Clever Concealment, Flare of Fortitude, and Boromir, Warden of the Tower, enabling it to consistently close out games around Turn 7.
