Deck overview

This deck is an optimized Esper artifact midrange build commanded by Urza, Chief Artificer. The primary strategy focuses on deploying cheap artifact creatures and mana rocks during the opening turns to reduce Urza's casting cost via affinity. Once on the battlefield, Urza creates rapidly scaling Construct tokens on every end step and grants all artifact creatures menace, turning an expanding artifact count into overwhelming combat pressure. High-impact engines such as Simulacrum Synthesizer, Bronze Guardian, and Tezzeret, Master of the Bridge multiply board presence and close out games quickly. The deck defends its board with format-staple protection like Teferi's Protection, Flawless Maneuver, and Fierce Guardianship, while keeping opponents in check with efficient removal, countermagic, and light stax from Ethersworn Canonist. It also packs strong late-game redundancy through Bolas's Citadel and The One Ring.
