Deck overview

This Sultai deck is led by Teval, Arbiter of Virtue, a commander that grants delve to every spell you cast at the cost of losing life equal to each spell's mana value. The deck's primary strategy centers on rapid self-mill and ramp during the early turns to fill the graveyard with delve fuel. Once Teval enters the battlefield on Turn 4, the deck uses delve to cheat mana costs on high-impact spells such as Genesis Wave, Vilis, Broker of Blood, Lich's Mastery, and Repay in Kind. Because Teval's life-loss trigger dramatically lowers your life total, the deck turns this apparent drawback into a lethal weapon through life-swapping and life-equalizing cards like Repay in Kind and Profane Transfusion, backed by 'can't lose' effects from Platinum Angel and Darksteel Angel. The deck swiftly closes out games around Turn 6 with massive Exsanguinate drains or overwhelming combat damage across the table.
