Deck overview

This Golgari deck pairs a Lord of the Rings Ring-tempting shell with a lethal two-card combo finish. Led by Sméagol, Helpful Guide, the deck uses death triggers and Ring temptation to mill opponents and steal their lands onto the battlefield. A package of 9 Nazgûl cards provides formidable midrange board pressure, growing rapidly whenever the Ring tempts you while offering deathtouch defense. For immediate victory, the list runs the compact infinite combo of Witherbloom Apprentice and Chain of Smog, which drains the entire table of life in a single turn through repeated Magecraft triggers. Backing this strategy is a rich suite of green mana acceleration, efficient black tutors, low-cost reanimation spells, and combat-prevention tools like Constant Mists.
