Deck overview

This Sultai deck is led by Gonti, Canny Acquisitor and operates as a combat-centric theft and midrange strategy. It establishes early board presence using low-cost unblockable or evasive creatures like Slither Blade and Triton Shorestalker, deploying Gonti on Turn 4 to convert combat damage into card advantage from opponents' libraries. Cost-reduction pieces like Doc Aurlock, Grizzled Genius and Gonti itself allow you to cast stolen spells ahead of schedule. While the deck generates steady card flow and mana via Grim Hireling, it lacks fast combo finishes, tutors, and hard stax. Its win condition relies on accumulating critical mass with threats like Brainstealer Dragon, Felix Five-Boots, or huge multi-spell swings from Villainous Wealth. Because it lacks protective counterspells, it is vulnerable to sweepers, requiring methodical threat deployment.
