Deck overview

This deck is a Rakdos Treasure-focused aristocrats and burn strategy commanded by Smaug, Wicked Worm. The game plan accelerates mana in the opening turns through low-curve artifact ramp, casting Smaug on Turn 4 to punish opposing artifact development with an influx of tapped Treasure tokens. Smaug converts every subsequent spell cast with Treasure mana into card advantage, creating a self-fueling engine that rapidly cycles through the library. The deck converts this token volume into decisive table damage using redundant burn pingers such as Mirkwood Bats, Marionette Apprentice, Ingenious Artillerist, and Reckless Fireweaver, which trigger on both artifact entry and sacrifice. Supported by efficient removal, board wipes, and high-velocity token producers like Academy Manufactor and Grim Hireling, the deck applies scaling pressure starting on Turn 5 and typically burns out all three opponents by Turn 7. It operates with high resilience and functional redundancy, though it remains vulnerable to artifact board wipes and anti-activated-ability stax.
