Carth Superfriends by user7533930

Format: Commander

Commander: Carth the Lion

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This is a Golgari "superfriends" deck helmed by Carth the Lion, built on a critical mass of 24 planeswalkers. The strategy is to ramp into Carth early, use his ETB and planeswalker-death triggers to dig seven cards deep for the next walker, and convert loyalty into board control and game-ending ultimates. Carth's extra +1 loyalty tax is the engine's secret: walkers burn down to zero faster, feeding Carth's repeatable dig, while The Chain Veil, Doubling Season, Vorinclex, Monstrous Raider, and The Elderspell shortcut the ultimate abilities. Primary wins are Vraska's assassin and poison ultimates, Sorin Markov's life-set, and Garruk/Liliana, Dreadhorde General emblems backed by token beats. It is a slow, value-heavy deck that wins through accumulated inevitability rather than a fast, compact kill.
