Deck overview

This deck is a high-velocity Rakdos combo-burn deck commanded by Rowan, Scion of War. The core game plan revolves around leveraging life total as an expendable mana resource. By activating life-loss enablers such as Wall of Blood, Fire Covenant, Staff of Compleation, or pain lands, Rowan taps to reduce the generic mana costs of black and red spells by massive values. This allows the pilot to convert a low life total into an explosive Turn 5 finish using lethal X-spells like Torment of Hailfire, Crackle with Power, Exsanguinate, and Comet Storm. The deck supports this explosive finish with dense card draw engines, highly efficient single-target redirection spells, and independent backup lines through K'rrik, Son of Yawgmoth and Bolas's Citadel.
