Deck overview

This deck is a Temur midrange strategy that combines spellslinger card advantage with aggressive land animation. In the early game, you cast cheap Lesson spells and cantrips to fill the graveyard while ramping your mana. On Turn 5 or 6, you deploy Iroh, Grand Lotus to unlock his powerful flashback ability, allowing you to cast Lessons from your graveyard for just {1}. This engine converts cards like Earthbending Lesson and Waterbending Lesson into massive tempo swings. You then build a dominant combat board by turning your lands into 4/4 haste creatures through the earthbend mechanic. Supported by trample enablers such as Badgermole and Earthbender Ascension, your animated lands and beefy creatures attack opponents down over consecutive turns. While the deck lacks fast combo wins, its resilient lands and recurring card draw provide strong mid-game momentum.
