Deck overview

This deck is a Jund Group Hug and Group Slug strategy commanded by Yurlok of Scorch Thrash. Rather than starving opponents of resources, the deck floods the table with symmetrical mana acceleration (Mana Flare, Heartbeat of Spring, Descent into Avernus) and extra card draw (Howling Mine, Rites of Flourishing). It weaponizes this abundance through life-loss taxation: Manabarbs punishes land tapping, Spiteful Visions and Underworld Dreams punish card draws, and Yurlok burns players for failing to spend injected mana before phase changes. Untap engines like Sting, the Glinting Dagger allow Yurlok to inject mana across every combat step. Forced combat effects like Kardur, Doomscourge and Disrupt Decorum prevent opponents from directing their accelerated boards at you. While the strategy accelerates its own lethal finish via massive spells like Exsanguinate and Insurrection, gifting opponents surplus mana and cards without stack interaction leaves the deck vulnerable to fast combo and targeted removal.
