Lathiel, the Bounteous Dawn by user1454392

Format: Commander

Commander: Lathiel, the Bounteous Dawn

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Lathiel, the Bounteous Dawn is a lifegain-to-counter board engine. The primary plan is to land several cheap lifegain permanents, build a lifegain total each turn, and let Lathiel distribute it as +1/+1 counters at the end step. Secondary paths are the infinite life/counter line with Heliod, Sun-Crowned, Archangel of Thune, and Spike Feeder, plus the life-total finishers Test of Endurance and Angel of Destiny. The commander's role is to be the counter distributor; the deck is clearly built to use that role. There is no transform commander; the closest hidden engine is Heliod, Sun-Crown, which substitutes for Lathiel when the actual commander is absent.
