Deck overview

This deck is a Gruul artifact-midrange strategy commanded by Aerid Konstrari. It leverages low-cost ramp and artifact synergies to deploy the commander on Turn 4, generating Heartwood tokens that accelerate mana and grow the artifact count. On Turn 5, the deck transitions into critical onset by casting massive beaters like Craterclaw Colossus, Hellkite Tyrant, or Ancient Copper Dragon, or by pumping Aerid directly. Win inevitability is achieved over 2 response cycles, closing out opponents on Turn 7 through combat damage boosted by Unnatural Growth, City on Fire, and Aggravated Assault. While the deck has high board impact and respectable self-shielding with cards like Asceticism and City of Solitude, it relies heavily on natural draws due to low tutor density and remains vulnerable to artifact-focused mass removal like Farewell.
