Deck overview

This Queen Marchesa deck is a Mardu political aikido and forced combat control deck designed to exploit opponents' aggression. The primary strategy revolves around taking and defending the Monarch, utilizing pillowfort tools, and forcing opponents to attack each other using goad cards like Disrupt Decorum, Kardur, Doomscourge, and Taunt from the Rampart. When opponents attempt large combat swings, the deck punishes them with devastating instant-speed damage reflection and combat fogs such as Inkshield, Deflecting Palm, and Comeuppance. A recurring 1-drop creature engine powered by Abiding Grace provides consistent utility, retrieving cards like Kami of False Hope for repeatable fogs and Selfless Savior for protection. The deck's primary vulnerability is its extreme mana base construction: running 33 basic Swamps with zero basic Plains or Mountains creates severe color friction, making it entirely dependent on artifact mana rocks to cast its vital red and white spells.
