Deck overview

This deck is a focused Mardu battlecruiser strategy built around Kaalia of the Vast. The primary game plan accelerates mana on Turns 1–2 using artifacts and rituals, casts Kaalia on Turn 3, and attacks on Turn 4 to put massive Angels, Demons, and Dragons directly onto the battlefield tapped and attacking. Cheating out threats such as Valgavoth, Terror Eater, Avacyn, Angel of Hope, and Bloodthirster bypasses normal casting costs, avoids conventional countermagic, and presents an overwhelming airborne assault. Free protection spells like Deflecting Swat and Flawless Maneuver defend Kaalia during her vulnerable attack declaration. If opponents answer Kaalia, the deck pivots into an independent reanimator backup strategy with Entomb, Reanimate, and Animate Dead, recurring discarded or milled monsters directly to the field.
