Deck overview

This deck is a Mono-Black Midrange strategy helmed by Shadowheart, Dark Justiciar and Scion of Halaster. The primary engine exploits undercosted creatures with disproportionately high power—such as Hunted Horror, Rot-Curse Rakshasa, Hunted Bonebrute, and Egon, God of Death—as cheap sacrifice fodder for Shadowheart. This converts minimal mana into massive bursts of card advantage, regularly drawing five to seven cards on Turn 5. The deck leverages this influx of resources into lethal life-loss combinations. By combining life-loss doubling effects like Bloodletter of Aclazotz, Wound Reflection, and Archfiend of Despair with symmetrical life-halving spells like Fraying Omnipotence or Rush of Dread, the deck cleanly eliminates all three opponents in a single stroke. Big mana engines like Cabal Coffers and Crypt Ghast provide a reliable secondary path via massive Exsanguinate casts or Peer into the Abyss combined with Psychosis Crawler.
