Deck overview

This deck uses Massacre Girl, Known Killer to turn -1/-1 counters into creature control and card draw. Its strongest ordinary setup is Nest of Scarabs followed by the commander: the commander places a temporary -1/-1 effect on other creatures, while Nest of Scarabs creates Insects as counters are placed. The list has many supporting effects, including Black Sun's Zenith, Mutilate, Soul Snuffers, Drown in Ichor, and Skinrender. Death payoffs such as Syr Konrad, the Grim, Zulaport Cutthroat, and Massacre Wurm can turn attrition into life loss. However, the deck has almost no tutoring or acceleration, little protection, and no compact win condition. It can dominate creature-heavy boards after assembling its engine, but opponents can answer the commander or enchantment and rebuild. Its normal profile is a seven-mana, value-oriented midrange deck rather than a reliable combo or lock deck.
