Deck overview

This mono-red Dragon tribal deck focuses on establishing an overwhelming aerial board presence led by Lathliss, Dragon Queen. The early game focuses on developing mana through 2- and 3-CMC artifacts and tribal cost-reducers like Dragonspeaker Shaman and Herald's Horn. Around Turn 5, the deck deploys its commander to convert every subsequent Dragon cast into multiple flying bodies. In the mid-to-late game, bomb payoffs such as Utvara Hellkite, Scourge of Valkas, Terror of Mount Velus, and Dragon Tempest generate lethal bursts of combat and direct damage. The removal suite features asymmetric, flying-friendly board wipes including Breath Weapon and Magmaquake to keep opposing ground armies in check. While vulnerable to sweepers and lacking stack interaction, the deck delivers consistent, high-power creature pressure and redundancy across its threat base.
