Deck overview

Szarel, Genesis Shepherd commands a resilient Jund lands-matter and aristocrats midrange deck that weaponizes the graveyard as an extended resource pool. The strategy accelerates through cheap ramp and a high density of fetchlands to cast Szarel by Turn 4. Once Szarel is assembled, every sacrificed fetchland or permanent rebuys value from the graveyard and distributes +1/+1 counters across the board. The deck accelerates into critical onset on Turn 5 through explosive payoffs such as Scapeshift, Korvold, Fae-Cursed King, Moraug, Fury of Akoum, and All Will Be One. These engines rapidly grow attackers into massive lethal threats or convert counter placement directly into player damage. The deck defends its board using Deflecting Swat, Heroic Intervention, and repeatable shroud from Sylvan Safekeeper. It systematically disrupts opponents with efficient removal, free spells, and targeted Strip Mine loops, reliably closing out all three opponents via overwhelming combat and burn on Turn 6.
