Deck overview

This mono-black Aristocrats combo deck leverages Yawgmoth, Thran Physician as an engine for card draw, creature removal, and combo execution. The deck accelerates in the opening turns using fast mana and rituals, deploying low-cost token generators like Jadar, Ghoulcaller of Nephalia and Ophiomancer to supply early fodder. Once Yawgmoth enters the battlefield, he converts sacrifice fodder into massive card advantage and board control by distributing -1/-1 counters. The primary win condition loops two Undying creatures, such as Butcher Ghoul and Geralf's Messenger, or pairs Nest of Scarabs with Yawgmoth to draw the entire library and drain all opponents to zero in a single turn using payoffs like Blood Artist and Zulaport Cutthroat. Asymmetric stax pieces like Contamination and Dauthi Voidwalker lock down opposing resources early, while backup combos such as Exquisite Blood and Sanguine Bond ensure win inevitability if the commander is suppressed.
