Deck overview

This is a Rakdos pain-stax and combo deck helmed by The Lord of Pain. The primary plan layers cheap damage punishers (Eidolon of the Great Revel, Spellshock, Pyrostatic Pillar, Ankh of Mishra, Roiling Vortex, Rug of Smothering) with the commander's first-spell trigger to bleed the table dry, while a dense stax package (Blood Moon, Winter Moon, Cursed Totem, Torpor Orb, Defense Grid, Stranglehold, Possibility Storm) slows opponents enough for the deck to assemble compact infinite lines. Primary wins are Worldgorger Dragon + Animate Dead loops and Dualcaster Mage + Twinflame/Heat Shimmer copies; Peer into the Abyss and raw damage from the pain suite serve as backups. The commander is a powerful damage multiplier and life-gain hoser but is not required for any combo line, letting the 99 function cleanly on its own.
