Format: Commander

Commander: Sauron, the Dark Lord

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Sauron, the Dark Lord leads a Grixis amass/spellslinger deck. The primary plan is to make Sauron a draw engine by repeatedly triggering the Ring, then turn those cards into Army growth through Saruman, the White Hand and amass spells. Saruman is effectively the hidden commander: he converts every noncreature spell into more Army counters. The deck wins by pointing copied burn at the Army, usually Chandra's Ignition copied by Galvanic Iteration or Increasing Vengeance, with Kess and flashback supplying extra casts. Combat and treasure generation are secondary paths.
