THE KINGS REIGN by McSoupy

Format: Commander

Commander: The Reaper, King No More

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is a Jund -1/-1 counter deck helmed by The Reaper, King No More. The plan is to spread -1/-1 counters across the board, convert every death into value - cards from The Scorpion God and Morbid Opportunist, drain from Poison-Tip Archer and Cauldron of Essence, and stolen creatures via The Reaper and Necroskitter - then close the game with one of several combo lines. The primary wins are the Hapatra, Vizier of Poisons + Blowfly Infestation infinite loop, the Demonic Pact + Harmless Offering two-card kill, and Food Chain + Squee, the Immortal for infinite mana. The commander is a value piece that accelerates the theft plan, but the -1/-1 machinery is fully redundant across the 99, so the deck does not lean on it. A meld subtheme with Fang, Fearless l'Cie and Vanille, Cheerful l'Cie provides a bonus payoff.
