Deck overview

Fire Lord Azula leads a Grixis combat-spellslinger deck that blends tempo-based extra combats with explosive storm and ritual finishers. Azula generates red mana via firebending 2 whenever she attacks and copies any spell cast while she remains an attacking creature. The deck leverages a dense package of two-mana artifact ramp to deploy Azula ahead of curve on Turn 3, establishing attack-ready operation by Turn 4. From there, the deck transitions into high-velocity turns using rituals such as Jeska's Will and Mana Geyser, combat untappers like Savage Beating and Relentless Assault, and magecraft value from Storm-Kiln Artist and Archmage Emeritus. Because Azula requires attacking to duplicate spells, timing instant-speed cantrips and combat spells during attacks generates significant resource advantages. The primary game-ending push arrives on Turn 6, funneling surplus mana into lethal burn via Torment of Hailfire or Crackle with Power, or chaining extra combat steps to overwhelm the table by Turn 7.
