Deck overview

This mono-red Commander deck is commanded by Smaug the Magnificent and built around an aggressive Treasure engine. The primary plan ramps during the opening turns with cheap mana rocks, backgrounds like Guild Artisan, and efficient enablers like Xorn and Magda, Brazen Outlaw. It deploys Smaug on Turn 4, leveraging his natural haste and flying to immediately deal targeted burn damage equal to the number of Treasures controlled. On Turns 5 and 6, the deck escalates its damage output through extra combat phases from cards like Karlach, Fury of Avernus and Relentless Assault, damage doublers like Twinflame Tyrant, or table-wide artifact burn from Ingenious Artillerist and Reckless Fireweaver. If Smaug is removed, a dense suite of backup Dragons and Magda, Brazen Outlaw tutors ensure high threat density. The deck maintains fast recovery and strong proactive pressure, closing out games with explosive combat and burn turns.
