Deck overview

This deck is a high-power mono-black stax and attrition strategy commanded by Tergrid, God of Fright. The deck focuses on accelerating into an early Tergrid using fast mana rituals and utility lands, then casting symmetrical discard and sacrifice spells like Dark Deal, Delirium Skeins, and Plaguecrafter. Tergrid's triggered ability breaks parity completely by putting all discarded permanent cards and sacrificed nontoken permanents onto your battlefield under your control. This rapidly strips opponents of their hands and boards while flooding your side with stolen lands, creatures, and artifacts. The deck locks the table out with continuous stax pieces like Oppression, Bottomless Pit, and Braids, Cabal Minion, closing the game through overwhelming combat damage or a high-X Torment of Hailfire. As an alternate win condition, the deck can assemble the infinite Magecraft combo of Professor Onyx and Chain of Smog to drain the entire table.
