Deck overview

This Golgari deck utilizes Lathril, Blade of the Elves to execute a focused Elfball go-wide strategy. The primary game plan develops mana-producing Elves on early turns, casts Lathril on turn 4, and connects through combat on turn 5 to build an expanding army of Elf tokens. By turn 6, the deck establishes critical onset by amassing 10 or more Elves to activate Lathril's tap ability, draining each opponent for 10 life per turn cycle while threatening massive combat swings backed by anthems like Pride of the Perfect, Dwynen, Gilt-Leaf Daen, and Haldir, Lórien Lieutenant. A secondary synergy engine between Blowfly Infestation and Flourishing Defenses enables infinite enter-the-battlefield and death triggers when paired with drain pieces like Poison-Tip Archer. The deck relies on high creature redundancy and commander accessibility, though it features minimal interaction and is vulnerable to mass board wipes.
