Deck overview

This Bant deck helmed by Arcades, the Strategist transforms high-toughness defender creatures into efficient combat threats and recurring card draw engines. The early game establishes a defensive perimeter with inexpensive walls such as Steel Wall, Wall of Omens, and Wall of Junk. Once Arcades enters on Turn 4, every defender draws a card upon entering and attacks using its toughness. The deck leverages asymmetric stax elements like Meekstone, which freezes opposing high-power creatures while allowing zero-power defenders to untap unimpeded. Backed by format-staple countermagic, including Force of Will and Fierce Guardianship, as well as phased protection through Teferi's Protection, the board state scales quickly into lethal combat damage across Turns 6 to 8. Alternate win lines include Approach of the Second Sun and devastating asymmetric resource destruction via Armageddon. The deck blends dense creature redundancy, rapid hand replenishment, and elite reactive shielding into a resilient mid-power aggro-control engine.
