Deck overview

This mono-black combo deck uses K'rrik, Son of Yawgmoth to convert life into mana and leverage 35 copies of Shadowborn Apostle. The core game plan focuses on deploying K'rrik on Turn 4 to rapidly cast Apostles for life rather than mana. Sacrificing six Apostles cheats powerful Demons directly onto the battlefield, primarily Razaketh, the Foulblooded or Vilis, Broker of Blood. Razaketh initiates a deterministic tutor chain: finding Songs of the Damned for black mana, Secret Salvage to draw all remaining Apostles from the library, and Aetherflux Reservoir as the outlet. Casting dozens of Apostles in a single turn triggers massive life gain from Reservoir, allowing the deck to deal 50 lethal damage to each opponent simultaneously on Turn 4. The deck features extreme functional redundancy and reliable assembly, but lacks interactive countermagic and defensive protection spells, leaving it exposed to targeted removal and graveyard hate.
