Deck overview

Szarel, Genesis Shepherd leads a lands-matter +1/+1 counters deck that leverages sacrifice synergies to grow threats and generate value. The commander allows playing lands from the graveyard and turns each nontoken sacrifice into a pump spell equal to her power. The deck plays an explosive ramp package featuring 8+ additional land effects (Azusa, Lost but Seeking, Oracle of Mul Daya, Wayward Swordtooth), landfall payoffs that dump counters on creatures (Scythecat Cub, Bristly Bill, Spine Sower), and counter doublers (Branching Evolution, Corpsejack Menace) to turn utility creatures into lethal beaters. Secondary win conditions come from Korvold, Fae-Cursed King, The Gitrog Monster, and Soul of Windgrace as resilient value engines that double as combat threats. The deck wins primarily through combat damage with massively oversized creatures, often by turn 7.
