Deck overview

This deck is a Grixis Zombie Aristocrats and Edict Control strategy commanded by Thraximundar. Its primary objective is to dominate the board through continuous, asymmetric creature sacrifice using engines like Grave Pact, Dictate of Erebos, and Butcher of Malakir paired with resilient recursive fodder such as Gravecrawler and Reassembling Skeleton. While early turns focus on establishing mana rocks and Zombie lords, mid-game turns lock down opposing creature strategies. The deck translates this attrition into victory through lethal drain triggers from Gray Merchant of Asphodel, Mayhem Devil, and Diregraf Captain, or by swinging with a rapidly growing Thraximundar on empty opposing boards. Although highly resilient against standard board wipes due to extensive graveyard recursion, the deck is vulnerable to targeted graveyard exile and noncreature combo strategies that bypass creature combat entirely.
