Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Golgari sacrifice-reanimation deck built around Meren of Clan Nel Toth. Meren converts early creature deaths into experience counters and returns a creature each end step, enabling a repeating loop of sacrifice value. Grave Pact and edict creatures clear boards; Zulaport Cutthroat and Sephiroth turn deaths into life loss; Ghoulcaller Gisa converts a large reanimated threat such as Ghalta or Wurmcoil Engine into a token army. Secondary axes include Natural Order into Ghalta, Birthing Pod and Survival of the Fittest tutor chains, and reanimation via Animate Dead, Reanimate, and Phyrexian Delver. The deck wins by grinding with repeated sacrifice triggers, then finishes with a combined attack and sacrifice-drain wave; Birthing Ritual and Evolutionary Leap keep the engine running if Meren is interrupted.
