Deck overview

This is a classic Animar, Soul of Elements +1/+1 counters deck that blends a compact infinite combo with a big-creature beatdown fallback. The primary game plan is to land Animar early, feed him creature casts to stack +1/+1 counters, and use his cost reduction to chain cheap creatures into a game-ending loop. The cleanest win is the Ancestral Statue infinite loop - once Animar has four counters, the Statue is free, returns itself to hand, and re-casts forever, growing Animar without limit and triggering Warstorm Surge for infinite damage. When the combo isn't assembled, the deck wins through combat with discounted, hasted tramplers like Maelstrom Wanderer, Etali, Primal Storm, and Apex Devastator, backed by a dense counter-doubling package (Branching Evolution, Kami of Whispered Hopes, Deepglow Skate). It is a midrange value deck whose ceiling is the infinite loop and whose floor is a resilient swarm of enormous creatures.
