Deck overview

This deck is an aggressive Izzet Voltron deck led by Karlach, Fury of Avernus and Sword Coast Sailor. The strategy focuses on resolving Sword Coast Sailor early, ramping into Karlach, and using Karlach's built-in extra combat trigger alongside unblockable attacks against the highest-life opponent. Equipment such as Two-Handed Axe, Excalibur, Sword of Eden, and Embercleave rapidly amplify commander damage, enabling lethal knockouts in a single turn. The deck breaks parity on Smoke because Karlach automatically untaps attacking creatures, stalling opposing creature decks. A protective suite featuring Deflecting Swat, Fierce Guardianship, and Slip Out the Back shields Karlach during critical combat windows. Backed by solid interaction and secondary threats like Goldspan Dragon and Laelia, the Blade Reforged, the deck applies relentless, focused combat pressure to close games by Turn 7.
