Deck overview

This mono-blue tempo and control deck is commanded by Lyra, Tolarian Archangel, converting high-volume card draw into an evasive aerial army. The deck's primary engine uses efficient draw spells like Brainstorm, Brainsurge, and Thirst for Discovery to routinely draw three or more cards per turn cycle, triggering Lyra to create 3/3 flying Angel tokens every end step. Redundant payoffs including Ominous Seas, Chasm Skulker, Mischievous Mystic, and Psychosis Crawler scale alongside this steady card velocity. Defensively, the deck operates at instant speed with a dense package of cheap counterspells such as Swan Song and Counterspell, alongside efficient spot removal and asymmetric wipe effects like Cyclonic Rift and Raise the Palisade. It finishes games through relentless combat damage in the air or life drain, backed by complete stack control.
