Deck overview

This deck is an Esper Spellslinger Pillowfort Control deck piloted by Y'shtola, Night's Blessed. The strategy focuses on establishing a secure defensive perimeter using attack taxes like Propaganda, deterrents like Dissipation Field, and rattlesnake combat tricks such as Inkshield and Comeuppance. Once Y'shtola is on the battlefield, damage-triggered auras like Curiosity and Helm of the Ghastlord turn every 3+ CMC noncreature spell into a burst of 3 drawn cards and 2 damage to each opponent. The deck leverages clones like Spark Double and Sakashima of a Thousand Faces to double these burn triggers, rapidly eroding opposing life totals while refilling the hand. With a deep interaction package of countermagic and removal, the deck controls the tempo of the game before closing out matches on Turn 9 through accumulated burn, a large Exsanguinate, or the infinite life-drain loop of Bloodthirsty Conqueror and Enduring Tenacity.
