Overlord/Slow by user4470590

Format: Commander

Commander: Nevinyrral, Urborg Tyrant

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is a slow, graveyard-heavy Esper Zombie deck built to grind out a board and then finish with one compact engine. The commander, Nevinyrral, Urborg Tyrant, is a reset and token burst, not the main engine: he creates a large zombie army when he enters and destroys all artifacts, creatures, and enchantments when he dies. The best realistic kill is Rooftop Storm plus Phyrexian Altar and Gravecrawler, using Diregraf Captain or Plague Belcher as a death-trigger drain. Secondary paths are mass graveyard returns, e.g. Zombie Apocalypse and Ghouls' Night Out, and a commander death-sweep into a rebuilt zombie horde. There is no hidden commander, and the deck has no double-faced commander; Hildibrand's Adventure and the transforming Liliana are support pieces.
